Harmonic Convergence: A Global Gathering
Billed as an instant of global transformation, Harmonic Convergence occurred on August 16th and 17th, 1987, when millions of people from all creeds and cultures simultaneously gathered at designated ‘sacred places’ around the world, including Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor, Machu Picchu in Peru, Uluru in Australia, Mount Kailas in Tibet, and even San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, where traffic was brought to a standstill for the duration of the sunrise ceremony held there.
These dates, according to the event’s architect and 2012 harbinger, Jose Arguelles, were auspicious in that they marked the culmination of a series of ‘hell cycles’ predicted in the ancient Mayan Calendar, as well as the start of a new 25-year ‘countdown’ cycle that would culminate on December 21st, 2012, at the end of the ‘Mayan Long Count’.
In short, Harmonic Convergence was the start of the 2012 Mayan Prophecy as it marked the moment when the 2012 Prophecy Wheel started to turn in earnest, and as such, Harmonic Convergence was perhaps the beginning of the end of the world as we know it.
On the other hand, maybe it was just an excuse for an impromptu hippy gathering!
What do you think? Were you there? Did you take your camera?
We’d love to hear your views and see your footage…
